Overview

Join us for an unforgettable day of spearfishing in the crystal-clear waters around Ambergris Caye! Whether you've never held a spear or you're an experienced hunter, we'll make sure you have an amazing time. We'll take you to our favorite spots where we regularly find grouper, snapper, and help control the lionfish population (these tasty invasive fish are actually great for the reef when we remove them!). Our local guides have been spearfishing these waters for years and love teaching guests the traditional techniques. By the end of the day, you'll be amazed at how much you've learned - and hopefully have some fresh fish for dinner too!

What to Expect

Your day begins with a comprehensive safety briefing and equipment tutorial to ensure you're comfortable with the gear. Throughout the day, we'll visit multiple prime fishing spots known for abundant marine life. Our expert guides will teach you sustainable fishing practices and help you identify local fish species, making sure you know exactly what you're hunting. You'll learn proper spearfishing techniques while enjoying the chance to spot dolphins, rays, and other incredible marine life along the way. We're passionate about conservation, so we'll share insights about local preservation efforts. At day's end, we'll demonstrate how to properly clean your catch so you can enjoy your fresh fish at home or at one of our local restaurants.

Other Information

This tour is open to everyone from beginners to experienced spearfishers, though basic swimming ability is required. For safety reasons, we have age restrictions: participants must be at least 12 years old to use Hawaiian slings and 15 years old for spearguns. All fishing follows Belize regulations with strict catch limits to protect our marine ecosystem. While we follow a planned route, we may adjust the tour based on weather conditions to ensure both safety and the best possible experience.

Meet Captain Nahuel!

Hi! I'm Nahuel Ayala, and I was born and raised right here on Ambergris Caye in Belize. I can speak four languages - Spanish, English, French, and Creole! I went to school in Florida for a while before coming back to my beautiful island home. When I returned, I found out that what I love most is showing people the amazing underwater world around our island. Everyone around here knows me as "Captain White Boy" - it's my fun nickname that makes people smile!

In 2015, I saved up my money, bought my own boat, and started Under Da Sea Adventures! I wanted to make tours that were just for you and your family - no sharing with strangers. I have a big smile that people remember, and I know all the best spots to see fish, sharks, rays, and pretty coral. I can take you fishing, snorkeling, or even hunting for fish with special spears! My favorite tour is our full-day trip to Caye Caulker where you get to do a little bit of everything. I love showing people why my island home is so special!
